How to pronounce endings

The pronunciation of the endings of words in English is different. "ED" is pronounced "id", "d" or "t" depending on the sound preceeding it. we have also "se" and "er".

In this course, we are going to see how those endings are prononounced in English.

Lessons

  1. The past tense ending -ed, for example, is pronounced as /t/, /d/, or /ɪd/ depending on the last letter of the verb. Luckily there are easy rules for language learners to follow.
  2. Do we always use the same pronunciation for ‘se’ at the end of a word? It is not the case. A few words change pronunciation depending on what type of word it is.
